Twin Oaks Cellars: Two Stellar Pinot Noirs

Twin Oaks CellarsWe are big fans of this California boutique winery that produces small quantities of high quality Pinot Noir. Twin Oaks Cellars is owned and operated by Mark Weiner who does a magnificent job in selecting top quality vineyards and hand crafting his vineyard-designated wines. Mark’s Pinot Noir winemaking skills were acquired working with Ed Kurtzman, Brian Loring, Adam Lee and other top producers. He has chosen to remain a small producer in order to focus on producing unique, artisanal wines from great fruit sources. These two releases are single vineyard Pinot Noirs from the Santa Lucia Highlands and Santa Rita Hills, both outstanding growing areas for Pinot. The famed Sleepy Hollow Vineyard, highlighted in our Report # 20, is the source of Mark’s Santa Lucia Highlands fruit. The organically farmed La Encantada Vineyard is the fruit source for the Santa Rita Hills. Both the Sleepy Hollow and La Encantada vineyards are located in the coolest parts of their respective appellations.

Wine 'Doggy Bag' Regulations in Missouri

SB262/HB450 allows the removal of partially consumed bottles of wine if (i) the restaurant securely reseals the bottles, (ii) places them in a one time use, tamper-proof, transparent bag and securely seals the bag and, (iii) provides a dated receipt for the meal.  Wineries are also covered in this law.
